The 5 Priorities
Future Ready
SD 308 is preparing students for the future by expanding digital skills, career exploration, and college readiness. A new K-12 digital literacy plan will teach media, AI, and online safety skills. Career exploration will start earlier in elementary school, and high school students will have more opportunities to earn college credit and gain real-world experience through career pathways and industry partnerships. The district will also review and update courses to match future job opportunities. These efforts ensure students graduate ready for college, careers, and life.
Systems of Support
SD 308 is improving student support by strengthening Social Emotional Learning (SEL), academic interventions, and collaborative teamwork. Over the next three years, school schedules will be evaluated, and clear expectations will be provided to students. Staff roles will be clearly defined, and teachers will receive the necessary professional development to align more closely with district and school goals. By 2028, these efforts will be refined to create a stronger, more student-focused learning environment across the district.
Academics
SD 308 continues improving its curriculum to give all students a strong learning experience. Over the next three years, the district will update learning opportunities and review different programs. Teachers will work together to align assessments, and student data will guide improvements. These efforts will ensure high-quality instruction and better learning opportunities for all students by 2028.
Wellness
SD 308 is actively working to make schools safer, more supportive, and welcoming for everyone. Over the next three years, the district will improve emergency plans and train staff on crisis response. Schools will focus on creating inclusive learning spaces where all students feel valued. The district will also assess school safety, address unfair gaps in opportunities, and expand wellness resources for staff, including mental health and financial support. By 2028, these efforts will help build a safer, healthier, and more connected school community.
Systems Management
SD 308 is working to make its systems more efficient, reliable, and cost-effective. Over the next three years, the district will improve transportation, update school enrollment plans, and develop a long-term facilities plan. A new technology plan will also be created to better support students and staff. Hiring and recruitment processes will be improved. Partnerships with local businesses will enhance student experiences. These changes will help SD 308 run more efficiently, effectively, and better serve families.
