Toni Galan serves as Director of Special Education for CUSD308. Ms. Galan has 8 years of administrative experience as a Special Education Coordinator, MTSS Coordinator and Director of Special Education.

Ms. Galan received her Bachelor of Elementary Education and a Masters in Education Leadership from University of Illinois at Chicago. She also earned a Master's degree in Special Education from Governors State University and completed coursework for her Director of Special Education endorsement from Aurora University.

  • Manage & coordinate all special education related services including speech/language pathologists, psychologists, SW, OT/PT
  • Provide Medicaid oversight (FFS/Administrative)
  • Assist Executive Director in analyzing student enrollment projections and provide annual staffing recommendations
  • Facilitate specified District 308 Special Education Department Committees
  • Assist with application for state waivers & exceptions if necessary

  • Develop and implement new Program Administrator(PA) onboarding and orientation
  • Develop and implement start of the year PA retreat

Daniel Stockhausen currently serves as the Assistant Director of Special Education for CUSD 308. He was previously a special education coordinator in SD308. Prior to that, he had been an assistant principal and a principal.

Mr. Stockhausen received his Bachelor of Science, Special Education from Northern Illinois University, DeKalb; Master of Arts in Educational Administration from Concordia Chicago University, Forest Park; Superintendent's License from Aurora University, Aurora.

  • Develop, manage &
  • coordinate special education programs at the High School and Transition program levels
  • Assist with program development and management at the elementary level
  • Act as ESY Program Director
  • Manage database of special education paraprofessionals
  • Oversee placement for students new to the district that receive special education services
  • Assist the Executive Director with student/staffing projections
  • Coordinate SpecialOlympics and Best Buddies, in collaboration with assigned certified staff
  • Manage Electronic IEP/504 Systems
  • Oversee the DLM/IAR/District Assessments for students with IEPs
  • Act as the District 504 Coordinator

Cara Chase currently serves as an Assistant Director of Special Education for CUSD 308. Throughout her 21 years in SD308, she has served as a special education program administrator, assistant principal, special education teacher, and speech-language pathologist.

Ms. Chase received her Bachelor of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology from Augustana College, Rock Island, Illinois. She obtained her Master of Science in Communication Disorders and Sciences from Eastern Illinois University, Charleston, Illinois. She completed her Master of Arts in Educational Leadership and Director of Special Education Endorsement from Aurora University, Aurora, Illinois.

  • Collaborate with the Associate Director to set agendas and facilitate program administrator meetings

  • Oversee review/revision of Special Education Department website pages in collaboration with Special Education tech department
  • Manage and support Assistant Principals and Lead Teachers in LEA Responsibilities
  • Provide support for elementary programming

  • Serve as an ancillary program administrator in the Early Childhood Program
  • Participate in specified District 308 Special Education Department Committees in collaboration with the Director
