Communications Leadership
As the Director of Communications and Public Relations, Theresa Komitas is responsible for all aspects of communications management within School District 308, including media and community relations. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, she took on a secondary role as the district's Pandemic Response Coordinator, relying on her background and education in Public Health to develop safety plans and procedures for the district in coordination with the Health Services Department.
Komitas obtained her associate of science from Kishwaukee College, DeKalb, Illinois, her bachelors of science, Public Health Promotions from Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, Illinois and her masters degree in Business Administration from Kaplan University, with Healthcare Administration endorsement. Prior to coming to School District 308, she served as the Director of Marketing and Public Relations at Northwestern Medicine and KishHealth System. She also serves as the Board President for Mendota Elementary School District 289.
