Protocol for Media Credentials for Entrance to Sports Contests and Events:
Applications are for working media only, which includes print media with a circulation base, radio audio streaming, television videographer, or tape delayed video streaming for public viewing (video requires authorization and expressed permission).  Website credentialing must meet the following requirements:
Websites must be determined to be primarily a news-gathering organization, with an emphasis on regularly-scheduled event coverage. The site must also have a demonstrated history and reputation for providing sustained game coverage of high school sports and activities.  The Website must be broad-based in nature. The site shall not be primarily a personal page, fan based site, or player ranking-evaluation-recruiting site. The Website may not display advertising or content on any page associated with its high school sports coverage that is not compatible with the mission or the message of high school sports as determined by the SD 308.
SD 308 does not issue credentials for freelance writers, freelance or commercial photographers, or recruiting services.
Parents of student-athletes and individuals under the age of 16 are not eligible to receive credentials.  SD 308 Communications Department reserves the right to refuse media credentials requests for any reason.  No credential requests are guaranteed.

IHSA
The IHSA office does not issue media credentials for regular-season or State Series (Regional, Sectional, Super-Sectional) events prior to the State Final round. Media members interested in covering regular-season or State Series events prior to the State Final round should reach out to the school hosting the event to find out that school’s local media credential protocol. During State Series events, the tournament manager/host for each round and site can be found in the State Series Information & Results link located in the upper lefthand corner of each individual sport’s webpage. The IHSA office issues all media credentials for State Final events, for more information: https://www.ihsa.org/NewsMedia/NewsMediaCenter/Credentials.aspx.
