Old Post Gives Back

Sock Hop for Charity   Donations for Orphanage  Jump Rope for Heart

This has been a wonderful year of giving back! Our students are not only champions at school, they are champions in the community. Old Post students and staff participated in quite a few opportunities to give back to many important causes. Students continued to donate food, hats, gloves, toys, money and time to families and organizations all year long. Our SCOOP (Student Council of Old Post) students organized and collected donations through the Toy Drive and Elf Raffle during the winter for such causes as Hesed House, St. Jude Children’s Hospital and Jellystone Barks Animal Shelter. They also offered their time at Feed My Starving Children to prepare meals for children all over the world. Our Character Counts Club hosted a family Sock Hop event to raise money for cancer research in memory of family and staff affected by cancer. Students in PE raised money for Jump Rope for Heart for the American Heart Association. Gifted Ed students also collected coins to donate to Water.org and Habitat for Humanity. 3rd-5th grade students collected markers and coloring books for an orphanage in Mexico. We also made contributions to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, HOPE and HOPE Lodge. We are so thankful that we can give back not only in our community but also to those around the world!
