Mr. Andrew McCree

Principal

Welcome to an exciting year at Brokaw Early Learning Center.

I am very eager to continue working with such an incredible collection of students, families, staff and communities. I am proud to represent the School District 308 and work to better the future of our community. I received my degree in early childhood education from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. My student teacher experiences allowed me to work with children from infants to grade three. From there I was hired to be an early childhood teacher in Joliet, Ill. There I learned to love different cultures, and I yearn to learn more each day. Please feel free to share yours with the Brokaw family.

I received my master’s degree from Benedictine University, Lisle, Ill. Prior to joining the Brokaw family, I was the assistant principal at Wolf’s Crossing Elementary School. I strive to learn and improve with each school year, and I am excited to continue my passion in early childhood and working with the future of the district. Brokaw’s high academic expectations and intrinsic will to build a partnership with families coincide with my educational creed. Feel free to contact me or the Early Learning Center’s office to arrange a tour of the building and to hear about the variety of opportunities we offer children and their families. We look forward to meeting you.

Welcome to the students, staff and families of Brokaw Early Learning Center! I am very excited to serve as your Early Childhood Special Education Coordinator at Brokaw Early Learning Center and Old Post Elementary School.

Following completion of my bachelor's degree in special education from Illinois State University, I taught for five years with the Grundy County Special Education Cooperative.  I then completed my master's degree in educational administration at Governors State University and served as Program Coordinator for the students, staff and families of Grundy county for four years.  In addition to my time there, I served in the role of Assistant Principal/Special Education Administrator for three years at Bonnie McBeth Learning Center in Plainfield, IL.

It is truly an honor to be part of the Oswego 308 School District and I look forward to working with families and staff to ensure the individual needs of each student are met.  Please feel free to contact me at any time if you have questions, concerns, suggestions, or celebrations you would like to share.  Wishing everyone a wonderful school year!
