Old Post Elementary offers a variety of special clubs and activities for our students.  These activities are designed to foster and enhance students' educational experience and talents outside of the classroom.

Student Council of Old Post (SCOOP)
Grade: 3rd, 4th, 5th 
Sign Up: End of September, students are elected by their peers, representatives from each 3rd, 4th and 5th grade class. 
Meeting Times: 7:30am-8:30am Tuesdays (1-2 meetings monthly), September through May. 
Quarters: 1, 2, 3, 4

Each year students are elected by their peers to represent their classroom on the Student Council of Old Post (SCOOP).  SCOOP provides students with a wonderful way to share their ideas and opinions, and to truly make a difference at Old Post!  Please enter through door 1. 
 
 
Character Counts Club (CC! Club) 
Grade: 3rd, 4th, 5th 
Sign Up: Mid September, students are voted by their peers, representatives from each 3rd, 4th and 5th grade class. 
Meeting Times: 8:00am-8:30am Friday (1-2 meetings monthly), October through May. 
Quarters: 1, 2, 3, 4   
Fees: $7 (covers T-Shirt)

CC! Club recognizes students as leaders of good character.  These students use their leadership skills to promote their character through the Old Post school.  This group aims to help identify and encourage good character in other,  as well as improve character and school climate through positive recognition. 
 
 
After School Sports: Girls & Boys 
Grade: 5th 
Sign Up: Sign up will be quarterly 
Meeting Times: After School 3:35pm - 4:50pm (Mondays/Wednesdays, see calendar for specific days) 
1st Quarter = Girls & Boys Soccer 
2nd Quarter = Girls & Boys Hockey 
3rd Quarter = Girls Volleyball & Tennis,  Boys Basketball
4th Quarter = Girls Power Walking & Boys Softball 
Fees: $5 per quarter

Students will learn about teamwork, sportsmanship, good character in athletics.  They will also practice extended drills, skills, lead up games, fitness and intramurals in After School Sports.
 
 
Safety Patrol 
Grade: 5th 
Sign Up: Students are nominated at the end of 4th Grade by their teachers, training will take place the last month of 4th Grade for the next school year. 
Meeting Times: Meet at lunch time, the first day of each month.

Safety Patrol is a group of 5th Grade students volunteers who help keep other students safe in the halls and outside of the school building before and after school.  They set a good example for other students and remind others of the safety rules if they are not being followed.
 
 
Yearbook Club
Grade: 5th

Yearbook Club gives our students an opportunity to create and design the Old Post yearbook.  Students will learn about basic design and composition, yearbook layout and photography.  Students will assist with the organization of yearbook ideas and pages, as well as promote and distribute yearbooks.

The Fall Honor Choirs will learn and practice musical concepts through vocal performance (choir).  Both choirs will perform together in a winter concert in December.

Young Rembrandts
Currently in Session at Old Post

Meeting Times: 9/22/16-10/20/16  Session 1 on Thursdays 3:40pm-4:40pm

This session is for the students who attend Old Post.  Classes take place once a week for one hour immediately after school.  A brand new drawing is introduced each week in a non-competitive environment that is designed to teach basic to advanced drawing skills, art techniques, creativity and art vocabulary.

Robotics Academy

The Robotics Academy is a comprehensive afterschool program where children are learning to design, build and program robots.  Using a creative educational approach that supports Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM), this class is led by Chasewood Learning's teacher-led instruction followed by fun, engaging and dynamic activities.
